ArticleⅠNAME The name of this organization shall be the “Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in Lubbock” (ACSSL). Article Ⅱ PURPOSE The purpose of this association is to promote communication and friendship among the body of Chinese students, scholars and Texas Tech community, defend members’ legal rights, provide members with various services, and contribute to cultural diversity in Texas Tech. Article Ⅲ MEMBERSHIP Section 1. Membership is open to anyone enrolled or employed at Texas Tech who acknowledges this constitution and expresses interest in joining the association to promote its goals and objectives. Section 2. The individual who subscribes in this association email list http://www.orgs.ttu.edu/acssl is an active member. There is no membership fee. Article Ⅳ ELECTIONS AND OFFICERS Section 1. The last week of February in each year is the voting week to elect the new president of this association. The presidency candidates shall be a member who is endorsed by more than two current members of executive committee. The active member who joins the association more than one month before the Election Day is qualified to vote. Section 2. Vice President(s), Secretary, Treasurer and more as needed will be appointed by the elected President. These officers shall perform the duties prescribed by these by-laws and by the democratic authority adopted by the Association. President duties include: Overseeing and running meetings, Being the liaison to advisors, and Serving as publicist by informing the public. Vice President(s) duties include: Assisting the President in duties, Acting as President in his/her absence, and Chairs and oversees special assignments as assigned. |
