Center
| The Architecture
Research Center (ARC) facilitates research and service activities within
the College of Architecture, serves as an interface with other research
and service centers and institutes at Texas Tech, and provides research
services to the wider public realm. Elizabeth Louden, Associate Dean
of Research, is responsible for the Center's activities. The
Architecture Research Center: |
- stimulates, promotes, and coordinates the research
activity of faculty and graduate students in the College of Architecture.
- provides a supportive physical setting within which
research activities can take place.
- encourages, in particular, collaborative research
projects within the following major interest areas:
Preservation, History
and Vernacular Architecture
Movement in
Designed Environments
Community & Urban
design
Appropriate
Technology
Architecture
& Health
Visualization
Creative Activity
- promotes interdisciplinary research activity involving
faculty in architecture and complementary disciplines located in Texas Tech
University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center academic units.
- facilitates the provision of feasibility and
preliminary design services to area and regional municipalities on a for-fee
basis through the Center’s Community Design component.
- administers the expenditure of research
grant funds, Research Enhancement funds and indirect costs returned to the
College by the TTU Office of Research Services.
