Committees

Within ASID there are many committees that you can get involved in, other than just being a member. These committees can help expand your knowledge of Interior Design and also introduce you to more people with in your own major.

Design Expo Committee 

Responsible for coordinating events for the annual Design Expo. 

Duties include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Coordinating exhibit fair by communicating with Industry Partners

  • Making appropriate arrangements for use of facilities

  • Acquiring donations and sponsorships

  • Helping with registration of attendees

  • Coordinating raffle ticket sales and giving away of prizes

  • Helping vendors move merchandise in and out of Expo

  • Writing a thank you to each vendor

  • Making name tags for vendors and committee members

  • Being a Host/Hostess at the event

Publicity Committee

Responsible for publicizing the activities and accomplishments of the association.

Duties include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Making announcements of all meetings (includes flyers, notices, etc.)

  • Providing media releases and photos of all events.

  • Maintaining the ASID Bulletin Board current (must change out on a monthly basis)

  • Maintain a newsletter for members (submit it for an award to national)

Fundraising Committee

Responsible for coordinating special events to raise funds for the chapter to send students to conferences at state and national level.

Duties include (but not limited to) the following:

  • T-shirt sales, bags, etc.

  • Valentine Social/ Fundraiser

  • Creating new fundraising opportunities/event

Social Events Committee

Responsible for coordinating social events for the chapter.

Duties include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Coordinating annual events such as Ice Cream Social, Christmas Party, Senior Dinner, etc.

  • Coordinating casual gatherings such as dinner after meetings, bowling, etc.

Membership Committee

Responsible for marketing of the chapter, recruitment of new members and maintaining of current members.

Duties include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Coordinating membership drives and maintaining membership benefits.

  • Maintaining roster/ data base of membership information.

  • Tracking attendance at meetings and special events.

Job Fair Committee

Responsible for planning and organizing a job fair for design students to be held here on campus.

Duties include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Recruiting design professionals

  • Find a place to hold the job fair

  • Setting up booths

  • Setting up interviews (possibly)
