Computing
The core facility offers a variety of computing software that assists users in accessing DNA analysis results, manipulating DNA segments, and data analysis for proteins.
- FTP
Sequence data generated by the Beckman CEQ 8000XL is typically transferred to the Biology FTP. To retrieve data and access the FTP using Windows XP: To access the ftp site click here (if nothing comes, just refresh the page>. At this point you will be asked for a log in name and password. Please contact the core facility for user name and password to access your data. - Vector NTI
Vector NTI allows users to display DNA analysis segments, align contigs, and further manipulate the analyzed DNA data. The facility has this software on a computer in the lab, and you can download the software by clicking here, download VectorNTI Advance 9.1. Install VectorNTI and run the program. TTU has a dynamic license which allows users from the HSC and the main campus to use VectorNTI for free. To access the dynamic license option on Vector NTI, go to the Help menu and select License manager. Select the Applications tab, and select the dynamic button located at the bottom of the window. Click apply and your VectorNTI should be ready for use. If you have any problems please contact us. - CEQ 8000
In addition to Vector NTI software users can download the new CEQ 8000 software. This software allows users to re-analyze raw data using different parameters. It also allows users to do fragment analysis. - Other free software may be downloaded for viewing and/or editing the DNA sequence chromatographic file.
