Why join a Fraternity?

This is a commonly asked question from freshmen and transfer students...  Many say, "I have a cell phone, I have email, I have friends that have come up here with me.  I can go to any party I choose to."  - This may be true, however, they are looking at just SOME aspects of fraternity life.  At any fraternity, you can party, meet ladies, and have fun.  At Delta Sig you will be doing these things with your brothers.  Joining a fraternity will not only improve networking, but will enable you to make life-long friends and have experiences that you will never forget.

Should I join Delta Sig?

This is a question that can only be answered by yourself.  But consider this:  Parties, meeting ladies, and a social network can be found anywhere, but quality friends are hard to find.  Here at Delta Sig, our brothers are of the most importance.

We are a fraternity because of our bond, not the bait.

What does "Zeta Zeta" mean?

Zeta Zeta is the designation for our chapter.  Delta Sig's first chapter at CCNY was called Alpha, the second Beta, and so on.  We were founded in 1977 and by that time Delta Sig had gone through the Greek alphabet 6 times and through 6 letters, hence Zeta Zeta.

What makes Delta Sig stand out at Texas Tech?

Our greatest asset is that we are not all jocks, all preps, all country, etc:  We are proud to recruit members on their values, personal strengths, and their commitment to friends.

For two, we are the only fraternity that can live up to 7 men in our lodge.  Also, we choose not to be on "Greek Circle" because of that fact.

How long has Zeta Zeta been at Tech?  When was Delta Sigma Phi established?

As stated above, we have been at Tech since 1977, so that is 28 years!

Delta Sigma Phi was founded Dec. 10, 1899.  We have had 106 years of excellence.

What other Delta Sig Chapters are in Texas?  How many chapters Nationally?

We have chapters at Texas, North Texas, UTSA, SFA, Texas A&M, SHSU.  Nationally we have 110 chapters.

What do you do with sororities?

Absolutely, Delta Sig has the largest fraternity-sorority event at Tech!  It is called Miss Greek, which is a pageant put on by us to judge and crown the best representative from the sorority community.  Other events are your typical parties, Carnation Ball (formal), Saliors Ball (informal), and even house parties.

How many members do you have?  How many members are in the Fraternity Nationally?

We currently are 30 members strong.  We choose to recruit quality men that we feel would be an asset to the brotherhood.  In that light, we will be increasing our size to about 50-60 men.

There are currently over 110,000 Delta Sig brothers from around the nation!

How much does being a member cost?

The dues are typically around $100 a month.  The dues can be paid by month or by semester.  This amount is competitive with the costs of other fraternities around campus.  However, when you pledge and become a member you are obligated to maintain a current balance.
