Study Development
Study development is a key component of any survey research project. Careful planning is essential to the success of any research endeavor. The ESRL assists clients in designing a data collection approach best suited to the particular project's needs and the resources available.
Some of the questions to be answered in the developmental stages of a research project include:
- What is the objective of the research?
- What are the key terms and concepts of the research questions?
- What kinds of statistical analyses are planned?
- Are there significant time or budgetary constraints?
- What is the appropriate study population?
- How will respondents be selected for participation in the research?
- What is an appropriate sample size for the project?
- What data collection methodology will yield the most useful, timely and cost-effective results?
