PROJECTS

Mexico, Juarez

 - A mission village in Juarez serves a large portion of the surrounding community through its school, food bank, offices for doctors/dentists, etc.  It is their hope to build a residential community for the elderly who are currently living in substandard living accommodations.

 - It is EWB-TTU's hope to assist this mission village in their endeavors.

 - Potential projects/research consist of, but are not limited to: Biomass Reactors, innovative construction materials for the area, and water accumulation/filtering.

Panama - Kuna Yala

 - An indigenous group of people in Panama, called the Kuna Yala, have been brought to our attention by the Architecture Department of Texas Tech University.  There are engineering hurdles within the community which could become potential projects for EWB-TTU.

 - This project is still in its infancy, due to communication complications between our two countries.

 - As soon as a mode of communication is attained, we will attempt to put together a scouting trip to their location to speak more with them, as well as to assess how we can assist them.

Please join our Brainstorming Group!

 - If you feel that you have something to contribute to EWB at Texas Tech, please contact us so that we can get you involved!

 - Engineers are NOT the only people welcome to join us.  If you are a business, communications, economics, architecture, music, psychology, philosophy major ... etcetera ... well, EVERYONE IS WELCOME!  You get the idea.

- Please come join us ASAP!
