V-Day 2008 Lubbock, TX
This event was a huge success! F.M.L.A raised in total over $2,500 dollars. Most of that went to Victim's Voice. Some to F.M.L.A. and some to VDay.org. The art auction brought in over $500 as well. Thank you so much to all the artists who donated their pieces and thank you to everyone who donated their time, money and effort into making this possible. Also a big thank you to all the sponsors who helped.
This play and all the events associated with it are about bringing awareness to the surrounding community and the world about violence against women and girls. Horrible things happen in our world, sex slavery, female genital mutilation, sexual assalut, domestic violence against both women and children, and much more.
This play is not about hating men, but rather loving women, and loving one sex doesn't mean hating another. We encourage everyone of both sexes to attend this wonderful event. It is an illuminating and eye opening experience not to mention fun.
This year's V-Day is focusing on women in the congo. For more information visit V-Day.org. Also, to view the Daily Toraedor article about "The Vagina Monologues" click here.
