Just recently we have been exactly where you are. At home, about to leave for Texas Tech, we know the feelings and questions you have. We know you've heard the rumors about Tech: "It's a party school," "There's nothing to do in Lubbock." We heard them too; in fact, many of us wondered just how true they were. For all of us, Foundation was the place we met believers who already knew what was truth and what wasn't because they were students at Tech on staff. Since then we have made Tech our home, and we've grown to love each other and Foundation. Take it from us, Tech isn't a place where partying is the only thing to do in Lubbock. Come to Foundation and find a community of new and current students seeking Christ in a real way. And there's plenty to do in Lubbock, we promise!
Here is a little bit of our heart for Foundation. We want Foundation to bring about nothing short of revival for Texas Tech. We know this cannot and will not be accomplished without much prayer. To this end, we put a huge amount of our focus and dedication on boldly communicating with our Father.
Some things we have been united in prayer over are our coming campers, and that they would be missional; that we ourselves would be missional on our campus and in our lives, and that we would reach those around us with the Gospel of Christ.
We are so excited about the things that have been happening since the beginning of spring 2008. We have seen faithful fundraisers, a fundraising tithe and offerings to a non-profit organization, and a huge part of our vision for camp: the first Texas Tech Campus House of Prayer (CHOP). The 24/7 CHOP before camp unified and focused us as well as invited the Spirit of God to come in power; the second 24/7 CHOP after camp will assist in bringing new students (you!)into a revival movement already happening on campus.
AND.don't forget this is Foundation. As Aaron says, we're going big - Foundation Retreat 2008 will be exciting, hard-core and FUN!!!
