About Us : ΓΒΦ
Gamma Beta Phi is an honor and service organization for students in colleges and universities in the United States. Our name is derived from the initial letters (ΓΒΦ) of the three Greek words for education, life, and friendship. It signifies that education and friendship constitute the basis of a full and happy life. Motto: Progressus per Eruditioneum -- Progress through Education The watchwords of the Society ... Scholarship, Character, Service ... denote the three major objectives of Gamma Beta Phi:
Each member of the Texas Tech Chapter Gamma Beta Phi Society must have earned a minimum of a 3.5 GPA to be invited into membership. Each semester our members participate in hundreds of hours of community service at Texas Tech and within the Lubbock community. The outstanding academic performance and community service contributions of our members identify Gamma Beta Phi as one of the most prestigious student organizations at Texas Tech University. |
