Our job is to just get in there with the kids and help out with whatever is needed. This IS OUTSIDE! So, if the weather is not permitting, do not show up and we will re-schedule. Wear appropriate clothing.

They built an extra building, so we should not be outside. However, you will want to wear jeans, closed toe shoes, hair up, etc. Bring a warm jacket just in case.)

There should be a normal amount of items in there; i.e. 2 regular sized cookies, 2 brownies, 2 rice krispies, etc. You can drop these off at the Coldstone Event on Thursday or you can drop them off at the location, that will be provided via email when you sign-up, from 5-7PM February 29.

Registration/Check-In for the March begins: 8:00 AM Opening Ceremony with Mayor David Miller: 10:00 AM The March will begin: 10:15 AM The registration fee is $25, which includes shoes, t-shirt, and food. You are also invited to collect pledges, which will benefit the Lubbock Rape Crisis Centers Programs to assist sexual assault victims and their families. The AFTER PARTY will be held that evening: 6:30 - 7:30 PM: Hors doeuvres & Reception 7:00 - 9:00 PM: Dinner and Live Auction featuring Bernie Bass as celebrity auctioneer. 	Location : Barnes & Nobles Booksellers 6707 Slide Rd. Registration Date : 4/4/2008 11:59:00 PM Description : Who: Volunteers and Jumpstart Corp members will join families with young children. What: During JFAD, children participate in a variety of learning stations. These stations are lead by volunteers and Jumpstart Corps members. Each station involves a hands-on activity that corresponds to a childrens book. The goal of each learning station is to promote literacy by providing fun and creative ways that children can interact with book. What can I do? Volunteer to be a learning station sponsor: Supply materials and 4-6 volunteers needed for one learning station. A supply list will be provided. Choose a station to sponsor! Background: Jumpstart is a national nonprofit organization that pairs highly trained college students with preschools to provide one-on-one tutoring in school readiness skills. Annually, Jumpstart holds Jumpstart-for-a-Day in cities in the United States to raise awareness of the importance of parental involvement in early childhood development.
