Scholarships
Sponsored by the Goin’ Band Association, we are happy to provide Goin’ Band Scholarship to motivated and talented musicians who value being involved in a band program that is rich in history, substance and fellowship. The scholarship is designated for incoming freshman that are non-music majors. Awards given range from $500 to $1,000 for one year. You must have been accepted by the university and enrolled in Goin’ Band in order to receive the award. Download printer-friendly .pdf of information below HERE.
SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE is APRIL 15, 2012
Submit the following material to duane.hill@ttu.edu with your NAME, INSTRUMENT, HIGH SCHOOL and DIRECTOR’S NAME.
1. Via email or Dropbox (dropbox.com) submit an audio recording of you playing an etude(s) or solo(s) that demonstrates your technique and lyrical playing. Recording should be no longer than 5 minutes.
NOTE: If you decide to use Dropbox to submit your materials, you may share your folder (which would include an audio recording and a PDF of your essay) to duane.hill@ttu.edu and you will receive confirmation when we have accepted your materials.
2. In PDF form, submit a brief essay that describes your background as a musician (accomplishments, involvement in competitions/festivals and etc.). Let us know why you decided to attend Texas Tech University and what are the three most important values you will demonstrate as a prospective member of Goin’ Band and potential recipient of this scholarship.
3. If the above options are not feasible, we will accept a CD and your essay by mail if postmark by the April 15th deadline. Please mail to:
