2012 Tumbleweed Classic
Volleyball Tournament

Welcome to the 2012 Texas Tumbleweed Tournament. 

There will be a mandatory coaches meeting Saturday at 7:00am at the Holiday Inn Park Plaza.

Tournament Format:
All teams will play in an AM pool starting at 9:00am then will play in a challenge round or challenge pool starting at 4:30pm or 5:00pm Saturday evening.  All teams will play a minimum of two bracket play matches on Sunday.

 

Attached are the site list with addresses and Saturday's AM & PM schedule for each division.
Sunday's bracket play schedule and other information will be passed out at the coaches meeting.

Just a reminder that Saturday night is day-light savings.  We will lose an hour so make sure to let all of your teams know so we don't have any teams show up late for their first matches on Sunday morning. 

Below is the site rules at the Texas Tech Rec Center.  Division I will play there on Saturday and Division I & part of Division II will play there on Sunday.  If your team is in one of these two divisions, please share this information with your teams and thier parents.

Attention all Club Directors, Coaches, Players and Parents,
Texas Tech University Student Rec Center Facility Policies:
Entrance to the facility will be through South ID only. All players, coaches, and spectators must come through the South entrance for the event. We will search all bags for food and drinks as event participants enter the facility. Individuals with food or drinks will be asked to throw the items away or take them outside of the facility.
The following policies need to be adhered to by your staff, participants and spectators. This information needs to be addressed with your teams and parents:

  • All food, drink and tobacco products must stay outside of the facility.
  • Only water with sport top snaps can be on basketball courts.
  • No Powerade, Gatorade or juices on basketball courts or in spectator areas.
  • You and your staff must stop players from bringing the above items on the courts.
  • You will be responsible for any damage to the courts.
  • Lawn chairs and coolers are not permitted in the facility.
  • With the exception of the volleyball areas, the facility will be off limits.
SRC staff will enforce all policies with players/spectators of your event. Any Rec Sports staff member (including Center Managers) reserves the right to ask individuals to leave the facility or to shut down the entire event based on the actions of anyone associated with the event. We will operate on a zero tolerance policy, meaning that any individual with food, drink, tobacco, lawn chairs, etc will be asked to leave the facility immediately, without exception. If individuals cannot comply with our staff’s requests, TTU Campus Police will be called to escort individuals out of the facility and the event may be cancelled. We will have an additional staff member to assist with the event and will require a representative from the tournament to be stationed at South ID at all times to assist our staff with any concerns or issues.
Communication of the above policies to your players, coaches, spectators is your responsibility.
