Topic: Congratulations
The Utsaav 2007 event marking our Independence day was a grand success, and I think the ISA team deserves to be congratulated.

The event saw many firsts. One such being, the thoughtful invitation to all university executives linked to international student services, providing them a first-hand experience of ISA and the country's independence in general.

The event could not have clicked without the breathtaking performances from the new students and the army of silent volunteers, never seen onstage.

The ISA has never been in dearth of talent. But this year around, the new students displayed potential to take the ISA to newer levels of showmanship. However, behind the glitz and dazzle, the heart of ISA lies in promoting a sense of belongingness, among students and fostering productive relationships within the Tech community.

The ISA has come to represent a microcosm of not only India, but the whole subcontinent. There were students from Pakistan, Iran, Japan, China, Tunisia and several other nationalities who participated in the celebrations.

This level of maturity could not have been possible without Dr. Padmanabhan Sehsaiyer (affably Padhu), who in his own words perceives ISA as his "first child" along with his two sweet little daughters - the ISA will miss Padhu and Revati as they move to Virginia this fall. The hard work and sweat invested by the students, spending sleepless nights participating in the rigorous practice sessions, was apparent on Saturday. The programe was marked with professionalism and grace that drew applause and awe from one and all. Ajay and his spirited team proved their mettle.

What makes ISA the vibrant student body at Tech? probably the question eludes a simple answer. It is akin to asking what makes India, a diverse cultural cauldron, in existence dating several millineums, including its recent emergence as a democratic nation-state.

Probably the clue lies in the intangible affection that sparks off whenever we listen the word Bharat; or whenever we open our apartments to new students, or whenever we run errands to airport or walmart unflinchingly helping our fellow country cousins, or perhaps whenever we ponder on how to express gratitude to our motherland and the many unfortunates who still wait to deserve their right to life, liberty and prosperity.

Topic: Ipod Shuffle Hunt.
Dear ISA team,

The Treasure Hunt organized by you was a great event. It was managed in a very good manner, members who kept the clues for the game was really smart, as it was tricky, at the same time simple if you use some common sense, my team was also able to track the treasure, enjoying to run across ttu campus, and about to hit the final destination, then we came to know that neeraj and team already hunted the treasure.
we did not win but enjoyed the game a lot. good thing to appreciate here is your event managment skill you showed in organizing this event.
I expect to see some more new events like this, which I think you must have already planned in coming semester breaks.
Hats off to you, GREAT JOB and .....Ajay Kapre, your watch on the participants onto that bike was great...Hats of to you Guys.. really great job.

Topic: New Student form
Hello Webmaster

THis is to inform that the new student package is not updated properly. Though the first page shows that it has been compiled by Naveen Gopala, the fourth page still has Shwetha dorbala as activity coordinator and Paul Watson as the advisor. Also the departmental contacts are not properly alligned. I got a mail by a civil engg student who thought i was in civil. Please update the same.

Thanks

Topic: In response to comments on Bharati
It is indeed a commendable effort by Kirti in rejuvenating Bharati. she is doing a great job.

At the same time, it is shameful on our part to make bitter criticism instead of contributing towards improving the quality... people please grow up and do mature things... if time is a constraint for you to write, how can you expect others to devote their entire time only on this?

I found many blatant statements made towards performance of ISA in feedbacks. they are hurting. if anybody has suggestions, there are better ways to convey them and help the committee improve the functioning of ISA.

These are purely my opinions. If you feel they are sensible please honor them, or you can simply ignore them and continue in your own way.

Topic: Who is this Sumitra Rao???
We are all confused as to who is this Sumitra Rao, whose article is being published monthly in Bharati. The tag line says that she is a call center associate in Hyderabad, India. Why the heck do we have her articles on Bharati?

It is disappointing to see that the new students information packet has not been updated by the new committee. This is a crucial time for incoming fall 2007 students who are looking to contact the right set of people.

Topic: Spring Sports
It was very good to be a part of the ISA during the spring sports. It was a very well organized event. The good part of the event was that we were very well informed and everything went according to the schedule. Only wish that we had better refreshments but still one can understand the number of people involved in the event and hence the chips and coke. All in all it was a great event and it was indeed a refreshing break.

Thanks to the entire ISA team.

Topic: Website, Bharati and more...
Hi,

You have updated the looks of the website. But, even the passage on the opening page is that of Sankalp's team (their motto was the promise to give). Please change it.

The very spelling of Bharati is wrong in April's issue and is repeated with wrong spelling on all pages, change it. Either people are not reading Bharati or people dont care about this. But, the name of the magazine spelt wrongly is serious.

Most of the departmental contacts have graduated some 2 or more years back. Update them. Please put some more news on Latest News section. It looks empty.

Thanks

After every event, the news on the events page can be updated.

Also, the distribution of tee-shirts was a great idea.
Kudos to the ISA team.

While appreciating the new venture, I am totally disgusted with the appeal for Venkat on the last page. A criminal is a criminal whether he is an indianor american. Your supporting him is total nonsense.
