LIST OF BOOKS
This list has been prepared by the departmental contacts and other students from the departments. They have tried their best to compile the same. There is no guarantee that all these books would be available in India. Just get the ones that are easily available. Please remember that books add to a lot of weight. If your department books are not listed here, please contact the respective departmental contact.ARCHITECTURE
The department has 3 programs for Masters students: Historical preservation, Community development and Visualization. None of these programs require books.Architecture is completely based on design and studios. It is also not required to get Architectural Instruments like T-square, rotering pens, set squares etc, at least in TTU
COMPUTER SCIENCE
Computer Architecture: A Quantitative Approach by John HennesseyOperating System Concepts by Silberschatz
Computational Intelligence: A Logical Approach by David Poole, et al
Logic for Applications (Texts in Computer Science) by Anil Nerode
Algorithms by Robert Sedgewick
Computational Complexity by Christos H. Papadimitriou
Robotics:
"An Introduction to AI Robotics" by Robin R. MurphyReinforcement Learning:
"Reinforcement Learning: An Introduction" by Richard S. Sutton, Andrew G. BartoDatabase Systems:
"Principles of Database & Knowledge-Base Systems" by Jeffrey D. UllmanCompiler Construction:
"Crafting a Compiler with C" by Charles Fischer, Richard LeBlancOTHER RECOMMENDATIONS:
Bring a UNIX manual, many classes will ask you to use the Unix systems. It is recommended that you get a reference manual on your favorite language (C, Java, Python, Lisp etc..). Whatever you use the most, classes here are most of the time not language specific, so you can use the language of your choice.

In most of the courses, Professors provide notes which form the primary resource for studying. Hence, not many books are required to be brought from India.
MANAGEMENT
Marketing Management (2002) Author: Philip KotlerMATHEMATICS
Intermediate analysis (or Introduction to Mathematical Analysis or Baby Reals)Principles of Mathematical analysis by Walter Rudin, McGraw-Hill 3rd Ed.
Methods of real analysis by Richard R. Goldberg, Oxford & IBH publishing 2nd Ed.
Complex Analysis (or Theory of functions of one complex variable)
Functions of one complex variable by John B. Conway, Narosa publishing house 2nd Ed.
Topology
Topology by James Munkres, Pearson education Asia 2nd Ed.
Real Analysis (or Papa Reals)
Real Analysis BY H.L.Royden, Prentice Hall of India 3rd Ed.
Modern Algebra(or Abstract Algebra)
Algebra BY Thomas W HungerforD, Springer
Baby Reals and Papa Reals are the names given in the Texas Tech Mathematics Dept. to the courses ? Intermediate analysis(which consists of basic stuff) and Real Analysis (which uses Measure theory etc.) respectively.
There are two books mentioned for some subjects. That is because, the books will vary depending upon the instructor who is teaching.
For Masters in Applied Mathematics, many professors give their own notes. You can also get your Undergrad Calculus books for reference.
