The Muscular Dystrophy
Association is the national Kappa Alpha Order philanthropy, to which KA
contributes over $100,000 annually, collected from KA's 130 active chapters
nationwide. Our chapter, Gamma Chi, raises approximately $6,000 every year for
MDA. During the year we have money making events which include Kalf Fry and
other charitable events. Not only do these activities help the less
fortunate, but also the brothers have a good time while raising money for MDA.
Defining our Duty
Our
members understand the importance of helping others as well as the rewards and
personal development offered from performing community service and philanthropic
activities. For fifteen years the Muscular Dystrophy Association has been the
national philanthropy of Kappa Alpha Order. KA is responsible for donating just
over 1.5 million in support of muscular dystrophy research. In addition, our
chapters have pledged to help those less fortunate than themselves. The brothers
of Kappa Alpha are dedicated to serving our schools, communities, and our
country.
