Constitution of the Raider Cricket Club
The
constitution of the Raider Cricket Club, in addition to laying down the ground
rules for the organization, it provides the fundamental spirit of which the game
stands for. The entire RCC constitution is provided here for the benefit of its
members, so that each member is aware of his or her rights, privileges and
responsibilities.
Terms
and Definitions

Caretaker: The responsibilities
as a caretaker shall involve communication with all team players, unbiased
support to each player during the practice sessions and/or official games,
organizing and coordinating practice sessions according to the rules of
Cricket.
Article I Name of the organization
This organization shall be known
as the Raider Cricket Club.
Article II - Purpose of the Organization

Requirements
A1-Full Membership Requirements

· Must be enrolled as a student at the Texas
Tech University.

· Payment of established annual dues set
under the categories of students
A2-Associate Membership Requirements

under the categories of non-students
Section B Discrimination
Statement
No person shall be denied
membership or discriminated against for reasons based on race, color, political
belief, religion, gender, sexual preference, age, national origin or handicap.
Section C Removal from
Membership
The
failure to observe Texas Tech University or Raider Cricket Club regulations as
established by this constitution shall be considered cause for expulsion from
this organization. Any member found to be in violation by a majority vote of the
Executive Governing Body shall be expelled by a majority vote.
Article IV Governing Body
Section A Executive Officers
and Duties
The President
-
Shall provide the vital
communication link between the University students, University affiliated
student organizations, and persons and/or organizations involved with the
activities of TTU Raider Cricket Club through the attendance of all
meetings.

Shall act as the primary
spokesperson for the RCC.
-
Shall coordinate with all teams
from other cricket clubs and Universities and organize games between
the RCC and the mentioned clubs.

Shall be present in all
executive officers meetings and general body meetings
Vice-president
-
Shall be responsible for all
duties of the president under circumstances when the president is unable to
perform.

Shall be responsible for
maintaining the RCC office.
-
Shall be responsible for
organizing club meetings and communicating with all club members regarding the
club activities.

Shall assist the treasurer in
coordinating campaigns for fundraising and sponsorship for the purpose of the
club.

Shall be present at all club
meetings.
-
Shall be responsible for
equipment maintenance and keep an updated tally of all equipment belonging to
the club.
Secretary
-
Shall assist the President
and/or the Vice-president in any of his/her duties.

Shall assist the Treasurer in
reporting financial transactions.

Shall prepare and maintain an
accurate roster of all club members.

Shall coordinate travel
arrangements for the RCC.
-
Shall be present at all club
meetings and take minutes and file for the club records.
Treasurer
-
Shall be responsible for the
preparation of each years operating budget.
-
Shall attend all budget
meetings organized by the Texas Tech University Student Association (TTUSA)
and keep up to date with all deadlines set forth by the TTUSA regarding budget
meetings.

Shall be responsible for the
collection of membership dues and all financial transactions between RCC and
other organizations.

Shall be responsible for
maintaining an accurate account of all Club expenditures and income, and to be
ready at scheduled meetings to make a complete and up to date financial report
to the Executive Governing Body.

Shall be responsible for
coordinating campaigns for fundraising and sponsorship for the purpose of the
club.
Club
Manager-
-
Shall serve as the caretaker
for the team(s) of the RCC.

Shall be present at all
practice sessions and official matches of the club.

Shall be responsible for
upholding the regulations of the game of Cricket, the club, and the Texas Tech
University while on the field with the club team(s).

Shall maintain the log for the
equipment before, during and after the practice sessions and official games
and report to the Vice President.

Qualifications
-
To be eligible for any office
in the RCC, each nominee must be of at least part-time student at the Texas
Tech University, as defined by the Texas Tech University in the Course
Catalog and Academic Policies.

To be eligible for any of the
offices, each nominee must have been a member in good standing of the Club for
the semester prior to election.
Section C -
Executive Governing Body
The management of this
organization shall be vested in an Executive Governing Body consisting of the
elected officers.
Section D Executive Powers
The Executive Governing Body
shall have the power to take all actions deemed necessary and proper to ensure
successful operation of the club. This shall not be limited to creation of
committees, preparing budget requests and making spending decisions. The
Executive Governing Body shall have the power to nominate from the members of
the club in good standing to the positions of
Representing
the club in matches against teams from other clubs and Universities.
Shall comprise of four members, which includes the
President, Vice president, team manager and the Captain of the club team. The
Selection Committee selects the team for the games against other teams and/or
matches within the club.
Article V Advisor
The
team will appoint an academic advisor each academic year. This person must be a
full-time member of the University faculty or staff who is familiar with the
game of cricket and willing to assist the club in order to promote and
popularize the game of cricket at the Texas Tech University.
Article VI - By-laws of the RCC
Section 1- All new members
must read and understand this Constitution and its by-laws and agree to be bound
by them before membership may be completed.
Section 2 A member in
good standing shall be defined by the following:

Has read and agreed to uphold
this Constitution and its by-laws.

Has paid dues for the season
(May - April).

Has participated regularly in
practice sessions of the club as determined by the Executive Governing Body
with the popular opinion of the general membership.
Section 3
Dues shall be collected for the entire season (September - August) when a
person joins the club. The Executive Governing Body shall decide the dues.
Section 4 No person will
be allowed access to the club facility and/or equipment if s/he is not a member
in good standing. No person shall be admitted at practice sessions and/or
official games if s/he is not a member of the club in good standing.
Section 5 The official
language of the club is English, therefore, during a cricket match or a practice
session, all members will be encouraged to use English for any conversation or
communication with other members.
Section 6 All members
are obligated to aid in construction and maintenance of club facilities and
equipment.
Section 7 The Texas Tech
University Cricket Club shall also be known as Raider Cricket Club or RCC.

The Raider
Cricket Club (RCC) is not currently affiliated with any state or national
organization.
