Red Raider Camp Activities

What will I do at Red Raider Camp?

History and Traditions

Experience the history and traditions that make Tech unique. Learn the Fight Song, Matador Song, cheers and chants, along with time honored and respected Texas Tech traditions.

Red Raider Nights

"Jamaican Me Crazy": Party-hearty at the RRC Caribbean celebration where there's something for everyone. Be ready to hang out, swim, and limbo in our tropical hill country paradise!

What's your Junction Function?

Get to know your group members and counselors better while participating in this action-oriented activity that builds teamwork and communication skills needed to be successful in college.

Watch Your Time

Are you ready for busy weeks at Texas Tech? This exercise in time management will help prepare you for days full of school and fun.

Ring Ceremony

Take part in one of Tech's most honored traditions. You will receive a special Texas Tech class ring that symbolizes your successful completion of camp, just as your senior ring will symbolize the completion of your college career four years later.

Camp Times

This is your chance to ask your student counselors about what college life is really like. Get answers to your toughest questions in an open discussion led by the students who have experienced the highs and lows of college life.

Ropes Course

Challenge yourself on a series of team-building elements designed to enrich the individual through team success. The Ropes Course strengthens the bonds between team members and is truly one of the most uplifting experiences at camp.

Polos and Pearl Snaps

"Get down" Tech style at your first college mixer! Wear anything from wranglers and pearl snaps to khakis and polos. At RRC, we didn't invent the fun, we perfected it!

Spring for the Bling

This interactive event imitates the challenges and opportunities you will face during your first year of college. It focuses on the importance of time management and maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Bonfire and Midnight Meltdown

Red Raider Camp is topped off with a spirit rally around a bonfire. After getting fired up about Tech, end the night hanging out with your new friends and eating s'mores around a traditional campfire.

Guest Speakers

A diverse mixture of Tech administrators, alumni, and current student leaders speak about their experiences as Red Raiders and give you advice on how to make the most of yours.
