Why I chose Texas Tech: My Mom went to Tech and she was also an education major. I look up to her a whole lot and hope to be just like her. It also was nice knowing that I would be a good nine hours away from home. I hate to say it, but I was so ready to get away from home for a while.

Advice for Incoming Students: Use a planner! It will come in handy. I think it is also important to get involved. The more you do, the more fun you will have, the more friends you will make, and the better experience you will get. It worked for me!

Advice for Incoming Students: Stay true to themselves no matter what. There are always going to be people who want you to do something or be someone you're not. Instead of giving into what people expect you to do or who they want you to be, you should be proud of yourself and everything you stand for. Texas Tech is all about diversity so always dare to be different!

Advice for Incoming Students: Being in college has its ups and downs. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and make some friends. Make friends in your residence hall or classes. But always remember that you're in school to learn.
