Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, WorkSource of the
South Plains, Texas Tech University Partnership
Are you an employer interested in expanding your workforce? Are you
a jobseeker looking for a great job? As an employer or jobseeker, access to
current labor market information is important. In a partnership between
WorkSource of the South Plains and LEDA (Lubbock Economic Development
Alliance), we present the Regional Labor Market Survey. This survey is a new
opportunity for you to access local employment conditions and research
compensation data by using an online tool that assists people with their
employment goals.
This comprehensive local labor market information is a critical
component for bridging the gap between workforce and economic development. In
order to have a better understanding of changing conditions and to make
informed and successful decisions, we worked with Texas Tech University to
conduct a survey of local businesses. The survey focused on the local labor
market in Lubbock, which includes an analysis of job openings, growth,
turnover, and wages. During the months of January-March, 2004, more than 3,000
employers in a representative sample of industrial sectors responded to the
local survey, and data about 520 occupations were collected. The survey results
shed light on the current job market of the region; it describes how this
region is different from other regions; and, it describes qualities that fit
our local economy.
You can obtain additional information about the survey or particular
occupations by using the buttons to the left. The Lubbock Economic Development
Alliance and WorkSource of the South Plains thank you for your interest in our
community, and we stand ready to assist with any questions you may have about
the exciting opportunities available in Lubbock and the South Plains region.
