RHA Summer Intern

Even over the summer, the Residence Halls Association is still active.  The intern(s) works on a variety of projects including recruitment and Howdy TECHsans. The responsibilities and remuneration are listed below. To apply, download the application and turn it in to the RHA office. Intern applications are due by 5 pm on March 24, 2008. Interviews will take place during that week. The decision will be announced March 31, 2008.

Responsibilities:
All listed responsibilities are prepared in a timeline at the end of this information packet, and will be posted both in the RLC-SD office and the RHA office.  It will be the job of the RHA intern to develop a display to show at the resources fair on the second day of each orientation session throughout the summer.  The RHA summer intern will also produce no less than one summer RHA newsletter for each summer session, totaling two for the duration of their employment.  Additionally, they will plan and implement one campus-wide summer program during each summer term.  Summer interns will also help to facilitate the pre-approved summer RHA budget, as well as planning a leadership development for RHA during the academic year.  Another major responsibility of the summer interns will be to coordinate the Howdy Techsan program with the guidance of the RLC-SD.  Each summer the RHA interns will organize, clean and inventory both the RHA office and the RHA storage room.  Any items not used during the previous academic year will be thrown out or donated to Goodwill.  All t-shirts left over from the previous year will be rolled up and given out at all presentations participated in. It is the job of the interns to prepare the paperwork necessary for the fall Visitation Vote, so when the executive board arrives in the fall they have very little to prepare.  An outline of the RHA fall retreat and training should be written by the interns and approved by the RLC-SD no later than July 15th.

Remuneration:
The remuneration for the RHA summer intern is to receive the total room and board costs for a single room during the summer, not including interim periods.
