The Dub Parks Memorial Award is an award that is given every year (announced at the Texas Tech Rodeo) to the one person who has contributed significant effort to the success of Texas Tech Rodeo Association. The award is named after Douglas "Dub" Parks who was president of the Tech Rodeo Association and competed on the team while studying for his degree from 1949 to 1954. Dub made great contributions to the club with his leadership, honor, and willingness to work. He died suddenly and shortly after his graduation in 1954 in a tragic auto accident.
