This arena was originally built by Texas Tech University
students and alumni back in the 1950s. This location was revived in the late 1990s upon hiring a new rodeo coach and revamping the rodeo program.
Today, the Dub Parks Memorial Arena serves as one practice location for the
Tech Rodeo Team
as well as a location for equine Animal Science classes.
Here are some details about this facility.
- Located on the corner of 4th Street and Quaker Avenue
- 325' x 120' Practice Arena
- 285' x 150' Practice Arena
- 285' x 30' Roping Alley
- 15 Stall Horse Barn (165' x 25')
- 5 Round Pens
- Various other holding pens
