Mid Year, Between Seasons Stories 2007-2008

Women's Team in Good Position to Go to Finals
The Texas Tech rodeo, Vernon College rodeo, and Sul Ross rodeo have earned the Tech Rodeo Women's Team first place three times in a row! With these major wins, the Women's Team is standing first in the region and tenth in the nation at the halfway point of the rodeo year. As this trend continues, the Women's Team will secure a spot at the College National Finals Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Spring term rodeos start in late March and continue through April 2008.

TTEC Has New Entrance to Facility

A new entrance into the Texas Tech Equestrian Center has been cleared and paved. Finished just in time for the Tech Rodeo, this new road is meant to divert traffic away from the Tejas Estates to a more direct entrance. The paved road is easy to get to by coming from West 50th Street and South onto Alcove Avenue. Then go about half a mile to the new road which goes West then curves North to the existing, paved parking lot (see map below). This new route will make traffic smoother and easier into the facility without disturbing the residents of Tejas Estates.Other routes to this Alcove entrance are available, but the roads are not paved.
