| TTEC to Make New Entrance Into Facility |
The Texas Tech Equestrian Center is in the process of making a new, permanent entrance into the facility. Students and vistors are asked to use the temporary reroute into the Equestrian Center until the new road is finished, which is expected to be just before the Tech Rodeo in October. The reroute is the entrance into Tejas Estates and to circle around into the north paved parking lot. The entrance that was typically used to the east (off Alcove) is a private drive and is blocked off as well as the entrance a little more south of there. People travelling through the Tejas Estates are asked to be particularly respectful of the residents by driving quietly and slowly through the neighborhood. The entrance when done will be located in the field at the south end of the facility and will curve north to the paved parking lot. The current entrance into the parking lot will be fenced off. Also, the paved parking lot will be specifically for visitors and fans while contestants will be expected to park on the crushed rock and dirt lots.

| Tech Rodeo Team Member Photo in DT |
In the Tuesday, September 18, 2007 issue of the Daily Toreador (Texas Tech newspaper) featured a photograph of new Tech Rodeo Team member, Craig Leonard. The photo is of him lunging a horse while in the Management and Training of Horses class at Dub Parks Memorial Arena. Note: the tag line incorrectly states that he was "desynthesizing" his horse, where the correct word is that he was "desensitizing" his horse!

Cowboy Symposium is September 6-9, 2007
This year, the cowboy Symposium is September 6-9, 2007 (Thursday-Sunday). There are two main parts: the chuckwagon cookoff in the field near the Civic Center and the actual symposium and booths that are in the Civic Center. The Symposium has asked for the Tech Rodeo Team to assist with year's symposium in various places where needed. We are happy to help where we can. we need to be available this weekend, and especially on Friday and Saturday during the bulk of the activities.
The Tech Rodeo Team also participates in the Alumni meet and greet at every Symposium. Photos are taken of Tech Rodeo alumni and current members at the water plaza of the Civic Center. They will meet at 3 PM that Saturday. All Tech Rodeo Members (and alumni) are asked to be there. |

In addition to marrying PRCA Calf Roper Jerrad Hofstetter this summer, she has done quite well in the PWBR earning over $30k in the first half of the year! Bennett-Hofstetter has one more year of eligibility left in the NIRA. So she will continue to compete at the college level for Tech! |
