CASNR Water Center
The CASNR Water Center was established to coordinate and foster research and outreach activities related to water resources within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and to coordinate and cooperate with other units, both on campus and off campus, with related interests. The Center functions in collaboration with the six academic departments within CASNR– each having some specialized focus as related to water resources– to provide environmental, agricultural, hydrological, legal, societal, and economic impact assessments of water use and conservation practices.
The CASNR Water Center serves as a unit to coordinate and foster research and outreach on water management and policy analysis on all aspects of agricultural and urban landscape water use and conservation. The Center's goals are to (1) coordinate basic and applied, disciplinary and multidisciplinary, research on all aspects of agricultural and urban landscape water use and conservation, (2) facilitate impact assessments of water use and conservation scenarios on environmental, agricultural, hydrological, societal, and economic conditions, and (3) foster the dissemination of research results to policymakers and industry/public officials to support effective societal and legislative decisions and actions.
