Over 100 faculty members at Texas Tech have an active research or academic focus on water and its social, legal, and economical impact.

The Water Initiative works to raise the visibility of these past and current water-related skills and accomplishments while facilitating interdisciplinary interaction among our campuswide community of water scholars. Shared water challenges include water conservation, water rights laws, ecological impacts, regional water planning, safe drinking water options, water reuse and water harvesting, and water pollution.
