Dr. Charles Klein's area of water expertise is rural and urban storm water for park, school, commercial, and industrial sites. He has worked on scenic resources design guidelines for the Texas Coastal Zone, completed an environmental impact analysis of scenic resources for the Texas Coastal Zone, and acted as a teaching assistant and construction coordinator for the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program service-learning project. For the past three years, Dr. Klein has taken a group of students to the Yucatan Peninsula to conduct a landscape architecture studio, participate in cultural events, explore environmental sites and biosphere reserves, and more closely examine ecotourism.
Dr. Klein is a member of the
CASNR Awareness Week committee and the
CASNR Recruitment, Retention, and Career Development committee; he serves as Faculty Advisor to the Student Society of Landscape Architects, Theta Chi Fraternity, and Sigma Lambda Alpha (Kappa Chapter) Landscape Architecture Honor Society. Additionally, Dr. Klein serves as an undergraduate student advisor, working with forty sophomore students. He is the President and Co-founder of Tree-Land Foundation, Inc., a land trust devoted to forest conservation, restoration, and education.
